After years of artfully dodging the lenses of the world’s media, Prince Charles and his long-time lover Camilla Parker Bowles finally emerged together for the first time on Thursday. As the couple left London’s Ritz Hotel by a side entrance, approximately 150 photographers crowded into the narrow street and gorged themselves on what until now had been the most elusive royal photograph of all. Charles and Camilla, both smiling broadly and clearly choreographing their movements for the photogs, were bathed in flashlights as they walked down the stairs towards their black limo at a few minutes before midnight. As the two stood together on the sidewalk, Charles turned around and put an arm around Camilla before helping her into the car. Onlookers whooped and shrieked in delight as the heir to the throne walked to his side of the car and got in. The couple had been attending a 50th birthday party for Camilla’s sister, Annabel Elliot.
