Charlie Hunnam doesn’t seem too upset about exiting Fifty Shades of Grey.

The same day Universal Pictures and Focus Features released a joint statement that the Sons of Anarchy actor and the “filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey … have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule,” he served as the best man in a friend’s wedding.

Hunnam, 33, “seemed in really good spirits and spent time with his closest friends and his girlfriend,” a source tells PEOPLE. He gave a sentimental toast and longtime girlfriend Morgana McNelis caught the bouquet.

After the news broke, the author of the steamy series, E L James, took to Twitter to send her well wishes to the actor.

“I wish Charlie all the best,” she wrote.
