Celebrity Meet Charles Manson's New Girlfriend: a 25-Year-Old Named Star Star has been visiting the convicted killer and cult leader behind bars since she was 19 By Melissa Locker Published on November 22, 2013 01:00 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: AP Somehow, after 44 years behind bars, Charles Manson can still make headlines. The 79-year old cult leader has an admirer in a young woman known as Star, Rolling Stone revealed in a new profile. Star – a name given to her by Manson – moved to California to be near Manson, who was sentenced to death in 1971 for the deaths of Sharon Tate and Leno and Rosemary LaBianca. That sentence was commuted in 1972, and Manson now spends his days incarcerated in the Corcoran State Prison. Star, who was raised by Baptist parents, has been visiting the convicted cult leader in prison since she was 19. While Star maintains a number of pro-Manson sites, including a Facebook page and a website where Charlie will occasionally deliver sermons via telephone, she claims she is a devotee of Manson’s environmental writings, not his murderous ways. However, Star doesn’t seem to be bothered by Manson’s gruesome crimes, telling Rolling Stone: “I do not give one f— whatsoever about 1969, personally.” After striking up an epistolary relationship with the killer, Star shaved her head and carved an X in her forehead at Manson s behest. “People can think I’m crazy. But they don’t know. This is what’s right for me,” Star told Rolling Stone. “This is what I was born for.” The feelings may be mutual. Star! Manson said to Rolling Stone She’s not a woman. She’s a star in the Milky Way! The couple have not been able to consummate their love, though, as inmates with life sentences are not allowed conjugal visits. If we did (have conjugal visits), we’d be married by now, Star told Rolling Stone. You know, that’s the only thing I want. Star, who bears a striking resemblance to Manson Family killer Susan Atkins, also claims she and Manson have big plans if he is ever released from prison. “I’ll tell you straight up, Charlie and I are going to get married,” she told Rolling Stone. “When that will be, we don’t know. But I take it very seriously. Charlie is my husband. Charlie told me to tell you this. We haven’t told anybody about that.” Manson may disagree about their relationship status, though. When asked about their engagement, Manson said: “Oh, that. That’s a bunch of garbage. You know that, man. That’s trash. We’re just playing that for public consumption.” Perhaps Star didn’t get the memo.
