Charles, Camilla Stop Traffic

The Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles stopped traffic in central London Wednesday night when they emerged together from a West End theater after seeing a revival of the old Marx Brothers musical “Animal Crackers.” About 1,000 people clamored to catch a glimpse of the couple — who were cheered by the crowd. Charles led the way to a waiting chauffeur-driven car, followed closely by Camilla. The couple waved to a gaggle of 50 or so photographers waiting on the opposite side of the road.

  • Charles is said to be a huge fan of the Marx Brothers and was rocking with laughter during the show, as was Camilla. As one audience member told the British Press Association: “They laughed and chatted together and joined in all the fun when actors came up to them during the performance. They didn’t seem embarrassed at all.”
  • Last night’s appearance was the second time the couple have been photographed together. The first was after a party at London’s Ritz Hotel in January.
