When Channing Tatum visits your class, playing hooky is out of the question.

That’s just what happened on Thursday, when PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive alum headed to the hallowed halls of Harvard Business School to participate in the popular Executive Education Program, which draws everyone from business executives to celebrities who come to learn about talent management and entertainment business strategies.

Looking dapper in an oxford shirt and vest, the Magic Mike XXL star, 36, alongside rapper-actor LL Cool J (who went by his real name, Todd Smith) and NBA star Pau Gasol, participated in the class’s first-ever “live case” on Thursday, during which they shared ideas on how to innovate the film industry.

The class, which is taught by Professor Anita Elberse, is part of the Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports program, which focuses on the unique challenges of developing, managing and marketing a successful entertainment offering.

The four-day program is a favorite with stars like Karlie Kloss and Tyra Banks. It runs from June 1-4.

But it wasn’t all about hitting the books while Tatum – who will be bringing Magic Mike Live to Las Vegas in 2017 – is in town. On Wednesday night, Tatum and two friends headed to Alden & Harlow in Harvard Square to grab dinner. While reps for the restaurant were mum on Tatum’s visit, word is he got the VIP treatment.
