Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind 1997.” USA Today reports that The Recording Industry Association of America has released its report on the century’s best recordings and acts, according to U.S. sales figures. The Beatles top the list of best-selling acts (106 million albums) while the best-selling album goes to The Eagles’ “Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975,” which edged out Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” by one million. The best-selling male artist is Garth Brooks (89 million) and the female, Barbra Streisand (62 million).
