Celine Wants A Baby

When singer Celine Dion wraps up her current tour late next year, she intends to take a six-month break and get a taste of “some normal stuff.” She told USA Today, “I can’t wait to cook and iron some clothes, clean the home … I want to go buy some fresh tomatoes, do my groceries.” She’s also hoping to undertake a more long-term project — motherhood. The singer, 30, told the paper she and her husband-manager Rene Angelli, 56, have been trying to conceive a child.

  • In other news of Celine Dion, she has sued a French tabloid for violation of privacy in an article suggesting she was unable to have a child. Dion’s lawyer Jacques Levy told a court in France that Voici, a weekly tabloid, committed a “serious violation of his client’s privacy and undermined her husband’s dignity.” Levy asked the court to award Dion and her husband about $17,500 each in damages. In response, a lawyer for Voici told the court that the article published last July was based on a biography about Dion published in the U.S., which the singer never contested. He asked the court to throw out the charges arguing that Dion was forgiving towards the media when they help advance her career.
