The Brady Bunch‘s beloved center square, Ann B. Davis, died Sunday at the age of 88.
Through her roles as “Schultzy” the receptionist on The Bob Cummings Show and Alice the maid on The Brady Bunch, Davis entertained generations of TV viewers. Her natural knack for comedy and compassion translated onscreen as well as off.
Barry Williams, the actor who played the eldest Brady boy, took a moment to remember the impact Davis had on his own life.
“When she came on our set she was already a big star, having won a couple of Emmys,” Williams told TODAY. “So I knew even as a young teenager she was someone I wanted to pay attention to.”
Davis turned out to be more than just a mentor to Williams; she was also “a wonderful, wonderful woman, a great friend” and “a big part of the family.”
The sad news of the actress’ death has other stars of TV and film honoring the memory of Davis as well. From John Stamos to Christina Applegate, here are the celebrities Davis continues to inspire.
