Sports fans are mourning the loss of BMX legend Dave Mirra, including his fellow motocross riders and celebrity admirers.

Retired racer Carey Hart, who is also Pink‘s husband, led the tributes on social media tweeting, “I’m in complete shock. Angry, heart broken and just sad at the passing of my friend Dave. Heart broken 4 his daughters and wife. #DaveMirra.”

Mirra was found dead on Thursday evening from an apparent suicide. The former MTV host was found in his car around 4 p.m. with what police are calling a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 41.

Actor Miles Teller was shocked after hearing news of Mirra’s death. “RIP Dave Mirra… Damn,” he tweeted.

Skateboarder and actor Tony Hawk also took to Twitter writing, “Goodbye Dave Mirra, a true pioneer, icon and legend. Thank you for the memories… we are heartbroken.”

More celebrities both in Hollywood and the sports world expressed their thoughts and prayers, including Jimmie Johnson, Lupe Fiasco, Nickelback, TJ Lavin and Joshua Malina.
