Jem is excitement, Jem is adventure and now – Jem is a movie.

Justin Bieber‘s manager, Scooter Braun, and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never director Jon M. Chu recently announced plans to reboot the cartoon Jem and the Holograms as a live-action movie.

The ’80s animated series followed Starlight music manager Jerrica Benton, who, with a tap of her tech-savvy earrings, turned into glam superstar Jem. With lots of hairspray and a little guidance from fab supercomputer Synergy, Jem and her group The Holograms spent three seasons stopping bad guys and out-rocking rival band The Misfits.

The cast for the film adaptation is still unknown. Instead of waiting, we went ahead and created a fantasy roster of our own. Are our choices outrageous enough? Tell us in the comments below.

Jem sings about boys and dyes her hair pink – two signature Taylor Swift moves – so the songstress should feel right at home wearing the cartoon’s magical earrings.

Now that Sam and Cat is on hiatus, Grande has the time to expand her music and acting career; portraying Jem’s little sister makes perfect sense.

Aja doll and Devon Aoki

Fast and Furious franchise alum Aoki (sister of famed DJ Steve Aoki) has the skills necessary to capture the vroom vroom attitude of The Holograms’s lead guitarist and driver.

Shana Doll and Solange Knowles

Solange flawlessly stepped out of big sister Beyoncé‘s musical shadow. Launching an acting career is the next logical move.

Raya doll and Demi Lovato

Already a certified chart topper, Lovato has the chops to rock with The Holograms. Besides, not just anybody can pull off pink hair with aplomb.

Pizzazz doll and Kesha

Kesha should kick off her new start fiercely – by inhabiting the part of Jem’s beglittered nemesis and leader of The Misfits, Pizzazz.

Stormer doll and Katy Perry

Perry may be going through a “Dark Horse” phase, but we know she is sweet on the inside – just like The Misfits’s blue-haired keytarist.

Roxy doll and Rita Ora

Girly girls to the left. Ora and Roxy both know true girl power is about being brash, bold and a little bit over the top.

Rio doll and Taylor Lautner

The feelings between Jem and her tour manager are complicated, just like Lautner and Swift’s relationship history. Let the on-and-off-screen drama begin!

Rory doll and Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth and his golden locks seem primed to take an acting risk. As Jem’s admiring rival, Riot, Hemsworth, with his magnificent mane is the perfect, voluminous fit.

Synergy doll and Madonna

After a few decades in the biz, Mama Madge has all the pop music surprises down pat. Add a little purple hair dye, and she’s an ideal Synergy.
