The country star enlists her loved ones in "Mama's Song," which premieres Friday

Carrie Underwood‘s latest music video may look a little bit like a family home video. That’s because it stars her mother Carole and new husband Mike Fisher.

The country singer, 27, enlisted her loved ones for the “Mama’s Song” video, which premieres on Friday. The tune, off 2009’s Play On, is about leaving the nest and finding the man of her dreams.

“[Mike’s] not ‘in’ it but you can tell it’s him,” Underwood tells PEOPLE about the hockey player’s cameo. “He hung out with my mom [on set] and he’s great with her.”

The lyrics for the song reference her upbringing – and her newlywed status.

“Mama you taught me to do the right things / So now you have to let your baby fly,” she sings. “And I know you watch me grow up and always want what’s best for me / And I think I found the answer to your prayers / And he is good, so good / He treats your little girl like a real man should.”

What was the best part of making the video, which filmed in August? “Just seeing [Mike] in my world was sweet,” she says.

The video premieres Friday on VEVO, and will also be available on
