Every advertising executive dreams of producing the perfect Super Bowl commercial. This year, Carmen Electra has teamed up with Volkswagen in one of the most buzzed-about early Super Bowl spots that’s guaranteed to please most of the people most of the time.

In the commercial, two diligent German scientists are determined to crack the Super Bowl algorithm of “puppies,” “babies,” “celebrities” and “groin hits” (as well as “Twerking,” the 2013 buzzword that appears here with a question mark). The ad quickly spins out of control as monkeys, musclemen and Abraham Lincoln impersonators run wild.

The joke continues into the ad’s behind-the-scenes clip, which features Electra doing just enough of a straight-faced impression of Carmen Electra to baffle at least one YouTube commenter, who wrote “this one just copied what every other car company would have done.”
