That’s one gorgeous newlywed!

Cameron Diaz – who tied the knot with rocker Benji Madden in January – shows off her trim physique on the cover of April’s Cosmopolitan U.K. and opens up to the magazine about how she maintains her enviable body.

“Wellbeing is an equation,” says the 42-year-old actress. “Remember, you don’t have to have the whole cake, you can have a piece. Don’t deprive yourself. Have fun.”

As she discussed in her 2014 book on staying healthy, The Body Book, Diaz talks about the importance of knowing when to treat yourself and when to stick to healthier choices.

“Just be self-aware,” she explains. “If your equation is 80 percent good, 20 percent bad most of the time, then a little movement toward the center isn’t going to affect you much.”

However, when it comes to exercise, she says there’s no excuse not to be active.

“You have to just do it,” she says. “Once you commit and really put in the effort, your body goes, ‘Oh, it’s not okay to be without this.’ People say, ‘My body rejects exercise.’ No, it doesn’t. Your mind rejects exercise.”

One thing Diaz rejects? Social media. The Annie star explained why she quit publicly sharing her life on these forums in September 2014.

“I think social media is a crazy-ass experiment on society,” she says. “The way people use it to get validation from a bunch of strangers is dangerous. What’s the point?”
