People.com Celebrity Caleb Logan Bratayley's Family Honors Late Teen on His Birthday: 'I Will Hold You in My Heart Forever,' Says Dad Caleb Logan Bratayley died from an undetected heart condition last October By Andrea Park Published on July 14, 2016 11:00 AM Share Tweet Pin Email The family of Caleb Logan Bratayley, the YouTube star who died unexpectedly at age 13 last fall, paid tribute to the late teen Wednesday on what would have been his 14th birthday. Caleb’s dad, Billy – who, along with his wife and two daughters, starred with Caleb on the family’s popular YouTube channel – took to Instagram to honor his son with a heartfelt post. “Happy Birthday my little baby boy. You helped me learn to enjoy life. I watched you grow into a great kid. I was the first and the last to hold you in my arms and I will hold you in my heart forever. You will always be the ‘peach of the family.’ I love you #celebratelife,” he captioned a sweet photo of a young Caleb sitting in his lap. In a separate tribute, his parents, two sisters and friends visited all of Caleb’s favorite places, documenting the bittersweet day with a photo collage on Instagram. “Today we celebrated Caleb’s 14th birthday at a few meaningful places. Thanks for all of your support on this very special day. #celebratelife,” reads the caption on the collage, which features pictures of the group at IHOP and Texas Roadhouse. Caleb died suddenly in early October, his family – who use the pseudonym Bratayley to protect their privacy – announced in an Instagram post at the time. In November, a Maryland medical examiner concluded that Caleb had died of an undetected heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. His family has a history of the disease, which causes the heart muscle to become abnormally thick and makes it harder for the heart to pump blood. The family spoke to PEOPLE Now at VidCon last month, and remembered Caleb as a fun presence who would put a smile on everyone’s face. “This was kind of his event,” Billy said. “He was the one who would go out and be taking selfies with everyone.” “He would entertain us and keep us laughing,” mom Katie also said.
