Goodbye Bruce, Hello Caitlyn! Subscribe now for exclusive details on her new life and the emotional decision to reveal her true self, only in PEOPLE.

Now that the day has come that she is living fully as herself, Caitlyn Jenner is happy.

“You can’t even imagine the relief she feels right now. Like the weight of the world is off her shoulders,” a source close to Jenner tells PEOPLE.

“She said it best at the end of the Vanity Fair video, I think: ‘I’m free.’ Totally sums it up,” the source says.

It’s “been a long time coming, and [there are] still a lot of hurdles, but she feels so good right now,” the source continues. “The support has been overwhelming. I think the attention will be hard at first, but just the fact that ‘She’ has been revealed? Pretty much the biggest OMG moment ever. Everyone in the family is so relieved too, all the kids. Everyone is looking forward to the future, whatever that brings.”

Jenner, 65, told Vanity Fair, “This shoot was about my life and who I am as a person. It’s not about the fanfare, it’s not about people cheering in the stadium, it’s not about going down the street and everybody giving you ‘That a boy, Bruce’ pat on the back, okay. This is about your life.”
