After her inspirational speech at the ESPY Awards, Caitlyn Jenner kept the party going with a celebratory meal in Los Angeles.

Jenner, 65, brought her oldest children and gal pals – including transgender actress Candis Cayne – to dinner at the Ritz Carlton on Wednesday night, a source close to the family tells PEOPLE.

After showing their support at the ESPYs, her mother and sister, daughter Cassandra Marino, and sons Burt, Brandon and Brody Jenner all attended, although Kim Kardashian West, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian and Kylie and Kendall Jenner did not, the source says.

“She introduced her new transgender friends to her Jenner children and other friends. Diane Sawyer was there supporting her,” the source says. “She was very composed and filled with gratitude. She’s excited for what they are going to do going forward to help [transgender people].”

Sawyer, 69, helped Jenner share her story with the world in April, when she interviewed her for 20/20 and the Olympic icon publicly revealed she was transitioning from male to female.

“I’d like to thank, personally, my buddy Diane Sawyer. You know, you can only tell your story the first time once, and Diane, you did it so authentically and so gracefully,” Jenner said at the ESPYs. “And me and the community are so thankful for that. And I thank you so much Diane. I’m so proud to have you as a friend.”
