Bryce Dallas Howard has had some expert help when it comes to her 4-month-old son, Theo.

“We actually have a nanny who’s amazing and her name is Nanny Deb from this show Nanny 911 on FOX,” the actress said this week when asked how she has stayed organized since becoming a mom.

Howard, who was interviewed at a press event for her role in HBO’s upcoming version of As You Like It, added: “She’s like Mary Poppins. She shows up in people’s lives when they need it most. She’s like, ‘Oh you two kids are probably going to need some guidance here,’ and she’s incredibly organized, and she s really, really helped me.”

Of course, Howard says she’s also gotten lots of support from her husband, actor Seth Gable. “I’m in a very empowering relationship with my husband and that’s meant everything to just have that freedom of communication and just to be with someone I can rely upon in every moment,” says the actress. “I think that really obviously helps a lot.”

Still, she admits to struggling with the balance between her career and motherhood. But when that happens she focuses on the present and not the future.

“It’s about just not having insane expectations, and going with the flow and knowing what your intention is as a parent and as a working mother and as a wife,” she says, “and just fulfilling those intentions on a day-to-day basis, but not getting overwhelmed in the big picture.”
