Bruno Mars has made no secret of his desire to be a billionaire “so freakin’ bad.” And what does every self-respecting billionaire need? An oil painting with one’s likeness, obviously!
Luckily for the pop star, he now has one.
Mars’s tour manager, Shaun Hoffman, presented him with this one-of-a-kind masterpiece for his 29th birthday Oct. 8 – which we’re pretty sure puts every piece of bona fide Renaissance artwork to shame.
Hoffman commissioned Nobilified, a company that promises to “paint your face on history,” for this instant classic, which features Mars, his girlfriend, model Jessica Caban, and his Rottweiler, Geronimo, in a reinterpretation of a 1786 painting of Thomas Gisborne and his wife, Anne, by artist Joseph Wright.
According to a Nobilified press release, Hoffman selected the famous painting of Gisborne, an Anglican priest and poet, because “while also being a classic painting perfect for couples, both Mars and Gisborne were/are poets of their time.”
So, what does the “Treasure” singer think of this, er, treasure?
“The masterpiece is definitely being enjoyed,” Hoffman told the folks at Nobilified.
We couldn’t agree more.
