Bruce Jenner's Family All Support His Transition Decision, Says Source

While not all the kids knew about Jenner's decision, they are now rallying around him

News of Bruce Jenner‘s plan to transition to a woman may have come as a shock to some fans, and a source tells PEOPLE that not all of Jenner’s children knew about his transition plans until quite recently.

“There was a lot they didn’t know about their dad,” they said, referencing the younger Jenner children and the Kardashians.

However, the kids (and Jenner’s ex-wife, Kris Jenner) are now all in support of the former Olympian’s decision.

“The number one thing is they all support Bruce,” the source continued. “Kris [Jenner] has been great and anything that says the opposite just isn’t true. It’s really a hard adjustment for her and a shock but she 100% supports him – the whole family does.”

Sources confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday that Jenner, 65, has been preparing to live life as female.

“Bruce is transitioning to a woman,” a source close to the family said. “He is finally happy and his family is accepting of what he’s doing. He’s in such a great space. That’s why it’s the perfect time to do something like this.”

A different insider also confirmed that Jenner is filming his transition for a docu-series that will air this year.

Jenner’s step-daughter, Kim Kardashian West, hinted at his personal change during an interview with ET that aired last Monday.

“I think everyone goes through things in life, and I think that story and what Bruce is going through, I think he’ll share whenever the time is right,” she said at the time.

Earlier this month, West shared a sweet photo of the Kardashian sisters posing on a couch alongside Jenner and his two daughters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

“Family first,” West captioned the photo.
