The Blue Lagoon may be one of Brooke Shields‘ most divisive roles – but 35 years after the movie became a hit, she remains proud of the film.

On Thursday, Shields posted a playful Instagram photo outside of Le Lagon Bleu, a building bearing the French translation of the movie’s title.

Shields’ snapshot made many fans nostalgic. One wrote, “The first movie that I saw in the theater without my parents. You’re always [Blue Lagoon]!” Another commented, “Huge fan Brooke!! Saw that movie all day at the theatre when it came out. Loved it.”

Shields was only 14 years old when she shot the sensual flick opposite Christopher Atkins, who is four years her senior. From the actors’ age gap, to their characters’ relationship as both cousins and romantic interests, to Shields’ onscreen nudity, the film courted its fair share of controversy but remains a popular classic.

The model appeared in her iconic Calvin Klein ad – in which she asked the camera, “You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.” – the same year that she filmed The Blue Lagoon.
