Britney Spears’s 13-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, is ready for her close-up.

Her own Nickelodeon sitcom, Zoey 101, debuts Sunday, and the younger Spears stars as Zoey Brooks, a student at Pacific Coast Academy, which until her arrival had been an all-boys school.

Spears, who had been part of the ensemble cast on the children’s variety show All That, tells the Associated Press that she’s still getting used to being offered her own show, saying, “I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, that would be so cool!'”

As for the character she plays, she reveals: “Zoey’s kind of like a leader. I guess I could say I lead in some ways, but Zoey is so good at that. I’m a little more shy than Zoey, I’d say.” Both she and Zoey share a love for the color pink, she adds.

When it comes to her own college plans, “I want to go to Louisiana State University. If I can,” she admits. And her possible major? “Oh, goodness, I don’t know. I just want to go to college. When I get older, I’ll start thinking what I want to do.”

Older sister (by 10 years) Britney’s contribution to Jamie Lynn’s show was to write its theme song, “Follow Me,” which is sung by the younger Spears.

“Yes sir, she wrote it and I changed a few little words here and there. But she helped me a lot,” says Jamie Lynn, who bears a striking resemblance to her famous sibling.

While Jamie Lynn says she doesn’t know if Britney will ever appear on Zoey 101, she admits it would be “really cool” if she did.
