Britney Spears has already shot a music video for her next single, “Piece of Me,” but she is wondering if her fans can do better.

The pop star, who turns 26 on Sunday, is teaming with MTV for a new contest called “Britney Spears Wants a Piece of You.”

On Monday, MTV will make footage available from its archives – interviews, red-carpet appearances and performances – for Spears fans to remix into a video of 3:34 or shorter.

Submissions are due Dec. 14. MTV, Jive Records and Spears will determine a winner, which will air on TRL on Dec. 20.

Spears shot her own “Piece of Me” video this week. That video will air in January at the earliest, according to MTV.

In the past, Kelly Clarkson, Nelly Furtado, Common and Paramore have run similar remix video contests with MTV.
