Britney Spears is not about looking back. For the perennial pop queen, it’s all about being present in the moment. Despite having enough gold records to fill a bank vault, Spears has revealed that she doesn’t rock out to her own hits in her free time.
“I don’t really listen to my music,” Spears, who just released her ninth studio album Glory, admits to Flaunt. “My kids and my nieces do. I’m about the creative process – I’m in the moment of being creative, and then I put it out there.”

Of course the singer, who spends many of her days at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas for her show, Britney: Piece of Me, adds: “I sing my songs every night and I have to listen to it that way, but I’m all about change. There’s a part of me in my music, and I hope that my fans can have that part of me when they hear me on the radio, buy my CD or whatever they do.”
And though she’s been in the spotlight since childhood, Spears, 34, says she still suffers from serious butterflies.
“I’m so weird. I get nervous in a lot of situations. Parties, clubs. When there are a lot of people around, I’m a weird, anxiety-ridden person.”
