Britney Spears Pal: Pregnancy Rumors 'A Big Lie'

The singer's friend, Sam Lufti, says Spears laughed off reports that she's expecting

Despite rumors that Britney Spears is going to be a mom again, her pal Sam Lufti tells PEOPLE the singer is not pregnant.

Following a cover story published by In Touch magazine, which claims the singer is four weeks pregnant with producer J.R. Rotem’s baby, Lufti said in a text message to PEOPLE, “It’s just BS. Big Lie.”

As for the pop star’s reaction to the rumors: “She laughed at it,” according to Lufti, who said the singer won’t likely release a statement about it. “If she were to give a statement about every lie, she’d be giving statements forever.”

Lufti, who also said that he doubts Rotem said anything about the rumors, also sent a text message to Ryan Seacrest about the story.

Seacrest read the message on the air Wednesday, quoting Lufti as saying, “It’s BS. Don’t know who made it up. J.R. doesn’t even know what’s up. It’s fake. Completely fake. We just wrapped her video. Going home to sleep.”
