Britney Spears has returned from spring break tanned, rested and ready for battle – as the pop princess has posted a letter on her official Web site slamming “false tabloids” that have been publishing rumors about her marriage to Kevin Federline.

As Britney tells the editors of such publications: “I’m really concerned about the people you hire to work at your companies. I’d like them to ask themselves the question, ‘What am I lying to myself about?'”

She even proffers a few guesses as to their motivations, suggesting: “Is it that you are 50 pounds overweight? Is it that your children aren’t making wise decisions? Or is it maybe that your husband or boyfriend is cheating on you?”

(Spears does, however, add a P.S. at the end of her message, saying that “PEOPLE magazine is great in my book!”)

As for Britney’s spring break, PEOPLE reports in its new issue that during Easter weekend she and hubby Kevin Federline took time off from their usual routine of hanging out together.

Instead, she bonded with her brother Bryan – staying at his Santa Monica pad – while Kevin spent the weekend with pals hopping around Las Vegas, where he gambled, worked on his tan and checked out real estate at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

By Tuesday the pair were both back in L.A. again.
