Adrianne Haslet-Davis might have lost part of her left leg at the Boston marathon bombing in 2013 – but she never lost her determination to one day cross the finish line.

“I absolutely want to dance again and I also want to run the marathon next year,” Haslet-Davis, a professional ballroom dancer, told The Huffington Post last year. “I will crawl across the finish line, literally crawl, if it means I finish it.”

On Tuesday, she did just that.

Wearing a ball gown, she foxtrotted across the finish line with her dance partner as part of a commercial campaign for Oberto Beef Jerky called Heroes of Summer, according to NECN.

She told the news outlet that it was an “incredibly cathartic” experience.

In March of 2014, Haslet-Davis performed at the TED Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia – her first time dancing in front of an audience since she was injured.

“Just returning to the finish line is emotional and difficult but I’m so incredibly thankful to have a new memory here, a great memory,” she told CBS.

At the trial last week for convicted Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, she testified that she thought she was dead when the second bomb exploded because she couldn’t hear herself scream.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see her back on the dance floor – or finish line – anytime soon.
