The bride, wearing a red sari, says "I do" to attorney Miles Cooley on a beach in Mexico

Trading in her doctor’s smock for a sari, Bones actress Tamara Taylor married attorney Miles Cooley in an intimate ceremony last month, a rep for the actress tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“They are both thrilled,” her rep says. “Their wedding day could not have been more perfect.”

Far away from the hit show’s fictional D.C. set, the couple exchanged vows on a Mexican beach on June 10. During the ceremony, held at the Hotel Esencia on the Riviera Maya, the bride wore a red sari embroidered with crystals and beads.

The Los Angeles-based couple got engaged in April of 2006 after Cooley proposed with a diamond solitaire ring. When first asked about the good news, Taylor, 36, gushed over her impressive new accessory saying, He did good!

Taylor was so well received as forensic head Dr. Camille Saroyan on Bones that FOX extended her role from a guest part to a season regular. She first broke through as Matthew Fox’s love interest on the studio’s long-running drama Party of Five.
