'Bonanno': Married to the Mob

Reclusive mob figure Joseph Bonanno Sr. showed up for a screening of the upcoming Showtime miniseries “Bonanno: A Godfather’s Story” Monday night in his hometown of Tucson, Ariz. Oscar-winner Martin Landau (“Ed Wood”), who plays Bonanno, denies that the six-hour, two-part movie glorifies a violent lifestyle. As he told PEOPLE Daily contributor A.J. Flick: “The killing that Joe has done was always to protect the family. We’re telling the story as it happened.” The movie premieres July 25 and costars Edward James Olmos (“Stand and Deliver”), Costas Mandylor (“Picket Fences”) and Bruce Ramsay (“Alive”). Bonanno’s son, Bill, 66, served as executive producer.
