Bobbi Kristina died on Sunday, nearly six months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Roswell, Georgia, home on Saturday, Jan. 31. She never fully regained consciousness.
“It is hard to say goodbye,” according to a message on Houston’s page, which was posted with an old black and white photo of the famed singer smiling at her young daughter. “On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers.”
The post continued: “As Bobbi Kristina would say: ‘The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face.’ ”
In June, Bobbi Kristina was transferred to hospice after her condition continued to deteriorate. A Brown family source told PEOPLE at the time that Bobbi Kristina was “skin and bones” just prior to moving to hospice.
“She has been losing weight, she’s been losing hair. They were taking good care of her, but she has no muscle tone at all. There has been some worry that her organs are shutting down,” the source said.
