Gwyneth Paltrow has her share of critics, but there’s one woman who is staunchly in her corner for life: mom Blythe Danner.

The I’ll See You in My Dreams star, 72, appeared on Today Wednesday and defended her Oscar-winning daughter, 42, who has caught flak for everything from her Goop lifestyle site to her "conscious uncoupling" from ex-husband Chris Martin to her questionable vaginal care advice.

“I think she’s so accomplished that people get kind of intimidated by it,” Danner said when host Natalie Morales asked her to comment on her daughter’s detractors.

Danner said she’s aware of the criticism launched against her daughter, but her utter lack of tech-savvy has seemingly inoculated her against the brunt of the negativity.

“I am so blessed that I’m old,” she said. “I don’t know how to Twitter, toot, Tweet, whatever. I don’t know how to do any of it, and I don’t look for it.”

The veteran actress beamed with pride as she spoke about her daughter’s accomplishments.

“I know that she’s the most extraordinary girl who can do everything,” she said. “An incredible mother, raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for my husband’s oral cancer fund … Things she doesn’t talk about a lot, she’s becoming a great environmentalist. I’m so proud of her.”

Paltrow has also addressed her critics at times, including in a forthright interview with the British magazine Red in 2013.

“The older I get, I realize it doesn’t matter what people who don’t know you think,” she said. “It doesn’t matter. You’re wasting your energy.”
