It was a blonde weekend for moviegoers. The summer comedy “Legally Blonde,” starring Reese Witherspoon, took the top spot in the box-office race, followed by the all-star heist movie, “The Score,” with Robert De Niro, Edward Norton and Marlon Brando — all brunettes, though Brando’s hair color is open to debate. The computer-generated sci-fi action movie, “Final Fantasy,” got off to a strong start last Wednesday but tickets sales weakened by the weekend, its studio admitted. Still, it placed No. 3. And its heroes are brunettes. In other box-office news, “Shrek” surpassed “Toy Story 2” to become the second-highest-grossing animated movie ever, with $247.3 million in its coffers, behind only “The Lion King” (with $312.8 million).
