Gossip Girl stars and real–life couple Penn Badgley and Blake Lively stepped out Wednesday night with his mother and godmother in support of the women’s newly-launched jewelry line, Badgley/Sneed Designs.

“[The jewelry line] is something that she’s passionate about,” Badgley told PEOPLE of his mother, Lynne Badgley, who started the line with his godmother, Jan Sneed. “Anything that I can support her in, I will.”

At his side for the evening was Lively, who also showed support for the Badgley family. New public relations agency Jack + Bill hosted an open casting call July 16 in New York City for emerging fashion talent to win free publicity. And Badgley/Sneed Designs was a contender.

Lively happily posed for photos with the Badgleys, and even sat in on part of the casting call.

Lynne Badgley told PEOPLE she is “very close” with her son, and that they talk often on the phone. Badgley even carried a large tote bag for his mother at the event filled with jewelry from the line.

“He’s been living in New York. I see him so little now,” the L.A.-based mom said. “I look for excuses to come into New York so I can visit him so this is perfect!”
