The "Crazy in Love" singer has covered Houston's iconic balled multiple times
We will always love Beyoncé‘s cover of “I Will Always Love You.”
The pop star again performed her version of Whitney Houston‘s iconic ballad – following similar covers, for example, in 2012 and, for Paul Walker, in 2013 – while appearing Saturday at the Center for Early Education’s 75th Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles.
(Houston’s version, made famous by The Bodyguard in 1992, is of course itself a cover, of Dolly Parton‘s 1974 original.)
Then as now, Beyoncé blew through the smash hit’s sweeping notes, as audience members soaked up snippets of her voice with their phones.
The biggest hit of Houston’s career, and one of the biggest songs of the ’90s, “I Will Always Love You” has been covered a countless number of times, from Amber Riley on Glee to Jennifer Hudson during a musical tribute following Houston’s death.
