Emma Watson turns 25 Wednesday, which means we’re celebrating by eating a lot of cake and simultaneously asking ourselves, “What have we even accomplished with our lives?”

Answer: Not as much as the talented, clever, crazy-successful Watson has in just 25 years. (We repeat: 25 years. Two-and-a-half decades. A zillion dog years.)

We could sit here and gush about all the times we fell in love with her over and over again – her movies, her work for gender equality, her prolific Twitter the list goes on – but we’ll just let her do the talking instead.

1. When the #HeForShe campaign advocate reminded the world she’s not just the Harry Potter girl

“I think it is right I am paid the same as my male counterparts. I think it is right that I should make decisions about my own body. I think it is right that women be involved on my behalf in the policies and decisions that affect my life. I think it is right that socially, I am afforded the same respect as men.”

2. And then when her UN address left us speechless

“In my nervousness for this speech and my moment of doubt, I told myself firmly: If not me, who? If not now, when? … I invite you to step forward, to be seen and ask yourself: If not me, who? If not now, when?”

3. When she took her role as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador to Twitter

Gender equality not only liberates women but also men from prescribed gender stereotypes. #heforshe”

4. When she helped men understand feminism, too

“Men, I would like to take this opportunity to extend your formal invitation. Gender equality is your issue, too.”

5. When she challenged society’s focus on sex appeal

“The allure of being sexy never really held any excitement for me. I’ve never been in a terrible rush to be seen as a woman.”

6. When she gave advice to a fan whose dad told her she couldn’t be an enginer because it’s a ‘men profession’

7. When she asked for change, and the world listened

“Women feel like we need permission We need to lead and change that.”

8. When she shut down the concept of ‘man-hating’

“I have realized that fighting for women’s rights has too often become synonymous with man-hating. If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop.”

9. When she stood up for those affected by the nude photo hack

“Even worse than seeing women’s privacy violated on social media is reading the accompanying comments that show such a lack of empathy.”

10. When she gave perfect relationship advice

“Chivalry should be consensual.”

11. When she was honored for being a trailblazer

“You have supported me in all of my awkwardness and allowed me to grow into the kind of actress and the kind of person that I hope to be, so thank you very much for that. If you truly put your heart into what you believe in, even if it makes you vulnerable, amazing things can and will happen.”

12. When she understood how we feel about Christina Aguilera’s early hits

“‘Genie in a Bottle’ What a tune.”

13. When she promoted self-love

“I want to be the person who feels great in her body and can say that she loves it and doesn’t want to change anything.”

14. When she shot down rumors she was dating Prince Harry, even if it broke our hearts

“WORLD. Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!”

15. When she motivated us to give it our all

“I really believe that you have to earn things. I don’t feel comfortable unless I have worked really hard.”

16. When she made us want to get a pixie ASAP

“To be honest, I felt more myself with that haircut. I felt bold, and it felt empowering because it was my choice.”

17. When she was the perfect role model

“I feel like young girls are told this whole idea that they have to be this kind of princess and be all delicate and fragile, and that’s bulls—.”

18. When she perfectly summarized entering adulthood

“I like that I’m getting older. In a way, I started out like this old lady, and now I feel like my age is catching up with me. And I’m excited by all these new things for me to do.”

19. When she revealed her love for bagels, and everything made sense

“Bagels – they’re the best thing ever! Americans just love variety; there’s so much choice, it’s overwhelming.”

20. When she found out how much money she’s worth and lost all chill in the sweetest way possible

“I had no idea. I felt sick, very emotional.”

21. When she threw shade at crazy Hollywood standards

“L.A. scares the crap out of me. I feel if I have to work out four hours a day, and count the calories of everything I put in my mouth, and have Botox at 22, and obsess about how I look the whole time, I will go mad. I will absolutely lose it.”

22. When she shared some wisdom with guys who want to date her

“The very worst men are those that say, ‘Are you the girl from Harry Potter?'”

23. When we wanted to give her a hug

“I’ve had dark times – this voice in my head that makes me pretty hard on myself. I really don’t let anything go. I’ve been learning that I have to try and be a bit kinder and take care of myself a bit better.”

24. When she was just like us

“I’m my own worst critic. I think that’s really hard, but it also spurs me on. I always want to do better. I’m always striving toward the next thing.”

25. When she revealed a perk of aging

Now I feel a lot more settled in who I am and what I think and how I want to do things. And because I feel good about what I am doing, I don’t need anyone else to say whether they think it’s good or not. I think that comes with age, which is nice.”
