Berry: Mystery Accident

Actress Halle Berry — who won a Golden Globe this year for HBO’s “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” — was involved in a hit-and-run car accident in Los Angeles early last Wednesday morning, though the incident, which remains under a cloud, was not announced by the L.A.’s sheriff’s office until Saturday. Sheriff’s deputies are currently investigating what happened, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Elisabeth Sachs. Berry, 33, was reportedly in a rented Chevrolet Blazer at 2 a.m. when the Blazer and another car collided. A woman in the other car sustained a broken arm, while Berry sought medical treatment for undisclosed injuries. Sachs said it was not clear whether Berry was the driver or a passenger in the Blazer. “It was a felony hit-and-run, but I don’t know who was the hitter and who was the runner,” Sachs told the Associated Press. On Friday, authorities impounded the rented Blazer. Sachs said that no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
