Berry Driver Speaks

The other injured driver in the mysterious Feb. 23 car accident that involved actress Halle Berry has finally spoken out. Discussing the incident in her attorney’s office in Los Angeles Thursday, Heta Raythatha, 27, said, “My car just spun around . . . I saw that my wrist was broken. I couldn’t move.” She added that her car was totaled, and she couldn’t identify the other driver because the other car sped away. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has asked the district attorney’s office to file criminal charges against Berry, who could face a felony hit-and-run charge. Berry, 31, issued the following statement through her publicist: “Halle would like nothing better than to speak out publicly and clear up the many misunderstandings currently circulating about this accident. However, prudence dictates that she allow the legal process to run its course.”
