Ben Affleck returned to Atlanta this weekend to be with his kids and estranged wife, Jennifer Garner.

Affleck, 42, was spotted arriving to Garner’s rental home in Atlanta on Friday.

On Saturday, the couple were joined by their kids for a family outing that included lunch, the mall and a trip to a local movie theater to see Inside Out. Affleck was also seen taking their children to a farmer’s market while wearing his wedding ring.

“This weekend was a family weekend,” a source tells PEOPLE. “These two are still speaking, still working through their separation.”

Garner appeared to spend the night at a local hotel, though the source says “they remain on the same grounds at the same house” in Atlanta.

The couple, who recently announced their divorce after 10 years marriage, have been “talking every day,” a source previously told PEOPLE.

“This has been hard, but this has not been as hard as everyone is making it. They speak all the time,” the source says, and “not always in an angry way.”

Garner has been staying in Atlanta with their three children – Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3 – while filming Miracles from Heaven and Affleck, 42, has already visited the family several times since the split announcement.

Allegations recently surfaced that Affleck was having an affair with the 28-year-old family nanny, Christine Ouzounian, which he vehemently denies.

But for Garner, 43, it was “the final straw,” a source previously told PEOPLE.

Inside Jen’s Heartbreak

“She’s grieving,” a source close to her told PEOPLE for this week’s cover story, “but she has an amazing support system. She just had no idea what was going on.”

Garner expects divorce mediation to be civil and swift.

“Jen will always communicate with Ben where the kids are concerned,” a Garner source previously said, “but that’s it.”
