Ben Affleck Spotted Out in Los Angeles, Still Talking to Jennifer Garner 'Every Single Day' Amid Nanny Scandal: Source
Ben Affleck was photographed driving in the Los Angeles neighborhood that he and Jennifer Garner call home following allegations he had an affair with their nanny
Affleck returned to L.A. after spending last weekend on Hampton Island, Georgia, where he threw a barbecue at his coastal home.
In the photo, Affleck appears full-bearded behind the wheel of his car. The star has been returning to Los Angeles sporadically over the summer, opting to spend most of his time with Garner and their three children (Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3) while she films Miracles from Heaven in Atlanta. The couple announced on June 30 that they were divorcing.
Despite the scandal (the actor’s rep vehemently denies the star had an affair with Ouzounian), a source close to the star tells PEOPLE that he and Garner have been in constant contact.
“Ben and Jen are talking every single day. About the kids, about each other,” the source says. “They are still getting through and doing their own stuff and taking care of the kids but it’s not easy on them. They are talking not through intermediaries.”
A source close to Garner tells PEOPLE, however, that the couple are only speaking if needed.
“Jen will always communicate with Ben where the kids are concerned but that’s it,” the source says.
Ouzounian, 28, has also recently been in Los Angeles, where she was seen at the Hotel Bel-Air, Affleck’s go-to home away from home.
According to a source close to the ex-nanny, Affleck and Ouzounian – who told friends they were having an affair – are in touch every day, and another source said that the star is footing her hotel expenses.
A source close to Affleck maintained to PEOPLE the actor only has a “work relationship and a friendship” with the blonde, adding “Ben’s friendly, but it’s not always meant to be flirty.”
