There’s another superhero in our midst.

As the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice premiere kicked off in New York City on Sunday, Ben Affleck gushed about the superhero in his own life – Jennifer Garner.

“Jen is a superhero mom. She is an amazing mother and I’m really lucky to have her as a partner to co-parent these kids with,” the 43-year-old actor told E! Online. “We try our best, we put them first and that’s what we do.”

Garner and Affleck announced their split last June after 10 years of marriage. The pair are the parents of Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and 4-year-old Samuel.

Affleck told E! that he isn’t too sure about letting little Samuel watch the new superhero movie – at least not in its entirety.

“Well, he can see some of it. I don’t know it just depends. Every kid is different,” he said.

“Like, I don’t know if he would be scared seeing me, like, if he would think it was really me getting thrown around and crashed and hurt. I don’t know if he could know the difference. So, we’ll see. I’ll warm him up.”

He added: “In time. When he learns to differentiate between the fact that it’s not, that I’m not getting beat up on camera. It’s pretend, you know.”

Although Samuel may not get in on the superhero fun, Affleck looked to be in good spirits as he posed among his costars on the red carpet.

Affleck, who plays the Dark Knight and Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, both donned dark suits on Sunday – a huge difference from their cream-colored ensembles at the Mexico City premiere one day earlier.

The two were joined by costars, Amy Adams (Lois Lane) and Gal Gadot who plays Wonder Woman in the Zack Snyder-directed film.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on Friday.
