Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Grab Dinner Together in Santa Monica Without the Kids

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were spotted leaving a Santa Monica restaurant together on Thursday night

Exes Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner don’t only hang out when their kids are around.

The couple announced they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage in June of 2015. Despite their split, the pair have remained amicable and have continued with co-parenting their kids, Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4.

On Thursday, the actors, both 44, were spotted grabbing dinner together without the kids at The Hungry Cat in Santa Monica.

At dinner, Garner wore a chic white windowpane Theory sweater and knee-high black skirt – accessorizing the look with an ankle-cut gladiator sandal.

Affleck, meanwhile, kept things simple in a blue button-down shirt and khaki pants, which he paired with white running shoes.

“We are definitely a modern family,” Garner told Natalie Morales while promoting her latest movie Nine Lives in August. “We’re doing really well.”

Garner said her family’s dynamic is “children first” – and that spending quality time with her children is what’s most important.

“It has to be,” she stressed. “You don’t have a choice.”

“Parenting is about time,” she continued. “You can’t buy parenting. No matter what, you have to actually get down on the floor and spend some time together.”

The two have done just that, spending a large amount of time together as a family in the past. They spent the Fourth of July as a family and even recently went on a month-long trip to Europe.

“Ben was working in London on Justice League and I felt like, ‘Well, the kids should have that experience,’ and he and I are great friends and we just, we just all went en masse,” Garner explained.
