3 Things to Know About Barry Manilow's New Husband, Garry Kief

It’s time to get to know the groom.

After years of keeping their relationship secret, PEOPLE confirmed Wednesday that Barry Manilow married his longtime manager, Garry Kief, in a private ceremony in Palm Springs, California, last year.

Although no official paperwork was signed, the couple both wear wedding bands and “are committed to one another and have been for a very long time,” a Manilow source says. “They have a great relationship. Garry has always been there for Barry.”

So who is this mystery man that Manilow can’t smile without? Here are three things to know about Garry Kief:

1. Manilow Might Be His Favorite Client, but He’s Not His Only One
Clearly Kief’s attentions are focused on a certain business associate, but the “Copacabana” singer isn’t Kief’s only client at Stiletto Entertainment.

The manager/producer also represents Lorna Luft (Liza Minnelli’s half sister, whom you might remember as Paulette Rebchuck in Grease 2) and Matt Dusk (who was in the Forest Whitaker-directed film First Daughter starring Katie Holmes).

2. He’s Got More Than 21 Producer Credits (and They’re Not All Manilow-Related!)
Besides producing eight Barry Manilow specials going back to the 1988 TV movie Barry Manilow: Big Fun on Swing Street, Kief has worked on several other popular shows.

Some of his executive producer credits include Extreme Cougar Wives, Treehouse Masters, Halloween Tricked Out and the documentary Taxidermy USA.

3. He’s a Frat Bro
According to Kief’s Twitter, his wedding band isn’t the only ring he wears.

Manilow’s husband is apparently a proud, card-carrying member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
