Barenaked Ladies Singer Miraculously Survives Plane Crash
The musician is "really lucky" to walk away from the wreck in rural Canada
Barenaked Ladies frontman Ed Robertson and all three other passengers walked away from a small plane crash Sunday in rural Ontario, Canada.
Robertson is “really lucky” to have survived the wreck, deputy fire chief Brian Sears told the Intelligencer, a local paper. He added that the singer and three passengers escaped through a window and “didn’t even have a scratch.”
The incident happened around 12:30 p.m., when the Cessna 206 float-plane went down in some woods soon after take-off from Baptiste Lake, west of Ottawa.
“Everyone is fine, and that is the important thing,” Adam Smith, a spokesman for the band, told the paper. “That’s all the comment we have at this time.”
It’s been a rocky few months for the group. Robertson’s bandmate Steven Page faces drugs charges after his July arrest.
