Doctor, astronaut, vlogger – yup, Barbie can truly do it all.

In that latest role, Barbie is proving just how far she’s come since 1959. (Not that we’re surprised – you already follow her on Instagram, no?) She’ll be updating fans monthly – in all of her perfectly-animated-hair glory – straight from the Malibu Dreamhouse.

She’s pretty busy working on her monthly vlog, but the childhood favorite still took time to catch up with us – yes, yes we interviewed Barbie – about her big YouTube debut, her other summer plans and, of course, Taylor Swift.

Can we just tell you how much we love your vlog?

I love the social aspects of being a vlogger. I love that I can be part of a community that didn’t really exist even a few years ago. I guess I hope my fans can learn new things about me and get inspired by new ideas I might pass along … just as I get inspired by them and their ideas.

Any vlog posts coming up that you’re especially excited about?

I like to be spontaneous and don’t really know what I’m going to share from post to post.

We’re definitely seeing your stylish side on your vlog! How would you describe your look?

It really depends on the day. I’ve never been a person who wants to have one personal style. I guess that makes me eclectic? I think it’s important to experiment and express yourself on a day-to-day basis. I love dressing up; I also love dressing down. I never want to be boxed in.

Aside from vlogging, what are you up to right now?

It’s going to be a pretty busy summer. We’re going to Wisconsin to visit family, which I always love. I’ve also got a great job at a local animal shelter. And I’ll also be practicing my paddleboarding. You know, practice makes … better! It’s also important to make room for downtime. Some of the best ideas come out of boredom!

And we gotta ask: Who are your celeb obsessions?

Zendaya and Taylor Swift. I mean, who doesn’t admire them? I love their music and their style, and I also love who they are: two hardworking and extremely creative women who aren’t afraid to stand up for what they know is right.
