When Joey DiJulio checked his email on Feb. 11, the last thing he expected to receive was an invitation to a bachelor party for a guy he didn’t even know.

But instead of deleting it after assuming his name was added to the email invite list by mistake, he decided he would not only go, but help raise money for the expenses to get there on a GoFundMe page.

“Hi all, So I have no idea who any of you guys are, but I have been enjoying being a fly on the wall hearing about the plans for this bachelor party over the last few months,” he replied to everyone.

He told the group that he lived out in Seattle, Washington, and that buying a plane ticket for a cross-country flight to Philadelphia (where the party was being held) might be over the top – but epic.

DiJulio quickly got a response back.

“I say everyone forks up an extra $20 and we get Joey a plane ticket to Philly!” one partygoer wrote.

When DiJulio asked his Facebook friends what they thought about the idea, they were supportive.

His first goal on the GoFundMe page was just to get him to Philadelphia.

Now, he is trying to raise money to help pay for a honeymoon in Italy for the groom, Jeff, and his wife-to-be. He might also go to the wedding.

As of Sunday, he’s met $6,000 of his $10,000 goal.
