Maybe he’s just trying to suss out his good side.

Whatever the case, one YouTube user found a surefire way to calm a crying baby: The distressed child was confronted with footage of himself fussing mere moments before and immediately stopped sobbing.

Of course, kids just love A) anything shiny and squawky and B) iPhones. But one could also view this as an elaborate meta-commentary on today’s over-documented and over-stimulated youth. It’s probably just a cute video, though.

It’s a shame he’s not a millennial. He could easily be the subject of a nice 3,000-word think piece.
