Talk about an abominable snow, man.

On Feb. 6, residents of Italy’s South Tyrol region looked out their windows to see a massive pile of snow creeping by.

Moso, a commune in Passiria, had front-row seats to what was an avalanche that hit the region. The disaster missed their dwellings by what looks like a matter of feet at one point.

Though the avalanche is moving relatively slowly, it’s not playing around: About 2½ minutes into the video, you can see a group of towering pine trees get steamrolled over by the shelf of snow.
