It’s been a rough week for teen heartthrob Austin Mahone.
After feeling ill for a few days, “Mahone was rushed to the hospital at 9 a.m. Thursday morning,” a source close to the pop star says.
“It’s unclear what the singer’s condition is at this time,” the source adds. Mahone, 17, posted an Instagram photo in a hospital gown holding on to an IV drip, with the caption, “I’ve never felt so bad.”
In addition to his health being at risk, Mahone’s headlining tour scheduled to kick off Thursday “may have to be rescheduled for early 2014,” the source said at the time, before even more bad news was released.
“Due to illness, Austin Mahone will unfortunately have to postpone his sold out MTV Artist to Watch Presents Tour to 2014,” an official statement about the tour said. “The singer … is now on strict doctor’s orders to stay on rest and will need to reschedule all dates on the tour.”
Ticket holders for the sold out tour can rest assured they will be notified of the new 2014 dates and all details as soon as possible.
While her son is hospitalized, Michele Mahone Tweeted to her son’s followers from his account.
“Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out,” she wrote. “We feel very bad … Thank you for your prayers.”
An outpouring of love and support has hit the twitterverse for Mahone with hashtag #prayforaustin trending at number one.
