Giorgio Armani will design the clothes for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’s upcoming wedding, reps for Armani and Cruise told PEOPLE Thursday – and PEOPLE.com readers say he’s a perfect choice.

Reader Marion writes that Armani’s clothes for Cruise and Holmes are sure to be “classic and beautiful and enduring, just like the two of them.” Seconds Evelyn, “How can you go wrong with Giorgio Armani? Fabulous choice.”

Like Cruise, Holmes has long been an Armani fan. The couple both wore the designer’s clothes to the British Academy of Film and Television Arts gala last November. Holmes also wore Armani to both the Berlin and Los Angeles premieres of Batman Begins last summer.

“Katie’s charm comes from her always-bright personality,” Armani told WWD last year. “She combines a wonderful innocence with a subtle but strong sophistication in the way she dresses.”

Plus, the actress’s interest in couture is only growing lately. Earlier this month, she visited Paris (where she told PEOPLE, “I already have my dress”) and shopped up a storm.

She also checked out three fashion shows with pal Victoria Beckham, went to a party for Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld and bought a dress (sample size!) at Giambattista Valli’s showroom.
