Awkward Alert! Vaishali Keswani Jokes About Husband Anil at Daughter's Bikini Photoshoot: 'He's in the Daddy Discomfort Zone!'

Posing on the beach in a bikini doesn’t exactly make for an ideal daddy-daughter outing – even for a tight pair like Anil and Sarina Keswani.

The duo are the more soft-spoken members of the unconventional family – the stars of PEOPLE.com’s new web series The Keswanis: A Most Modern Family, which features both doctor dad Anil and pageant rookie Sarina as well as momager Vaishali, social media star Nik and transgender princess Devina.

With Vaishali occupied, Anil stepped up to take his eldest daughter – and budding pageant girl – to a bikini photoshoot for an upcoming pageant.

“My job there was to be a ‘pageant dad on duty,'” Anil says. “Which means I don’t know what I’m supposed to do except be available to her.”

Despite Anil’s positive intentions, there was no denying his awkwardness when he heard his daughter instructed to feel “young sexy” during the photoshoot.

“Anil was definitely in the daddy discomfort zone during that swimsuit shoot,” Vashali said of the experience. “Naturally, he would be, he’s a dad and that’s his little girl.”

“I had no clue what I’m doing,” Anil admitted. “I had no clue what she needed.”

The bikini shoot may have had its awkward moments, but the whole family agrees that pageantry has been a positive outlet for Sarina, allowing her to come out of her shell and gain confidence.

“A few years ago, I was a little insecure, I was really quiet,” Sarina says. “Pageantry has really brought me out of my shell and helped me morph into a better person.”

Anil adds: “I’m starting to see a new Sarina blossom.”
