Is Angelina Jolie Now Officially Angelina Jolie Pitt?

The actress-turned-director has been identified as "Angelina Jolie Pitt" recently

From two recent high-profile examples, it looks like Angelina Jolie may now be going by her married name, Angelina Jolie Pitt.

The actress, director and humanitarian, 39, was bylined as “Angelina Jolie Pitt” in a New York Times op-ed published Tuesday, detailing her decision to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed after she started showing the early stages of cancer.

She was also identified as “Angelina Jolie Pitt” at Saturday’s Kids’ Choice Awards, where she picked up the award for favorite villain and attended alongside daughters Zahara and Shiloh.

Jolie and Brad Pitt, 51, got married in August after nine years of dating.

Very few celebrities use their married names professional, especially a star of Angelina’s stature. Courteney Cox went by her married name during her marriage to David Arquette, which was famously spoofed for one episode during the opening credits of Friends.

Eva Longoria took Tony Parker’s name during their marriage and Kim Kardashian became Kim Kardashian West following her union with Kanye West.

In May, Angelina spoke about how supportive Brad had been through her mastectomy, which she announced publicly in May 2013.

“We’ve been through so much,” Jolie told PEOPLE. “We’ve gotten a lot closer, which I think naturally happens with raising a family together.”
